The Hollywood ReporterPrince Harry and Meghan Markle attended an event in Montecito, California, on Friday to celebrate the second season of the Netflix series Beef. The event was hosted by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and ambassador Nicole Avant. Beef season two is set to premiere on Netflix on April 16.
Cast members in attendance included Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny. Emmy-winning creator Lee Sung Jin also attended the event. The appearance by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle occurred nearly one month after a report in Variety stated that Netflix had been distancing itself from the couple.
Reports of a Rift The Variety report also stated that Sarandos, a neighbor of the couple in Montecito, had grown tired of them.
A spokesperson for Netflix called those claims absolutely inaccurate. Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria addressed the reports at the Next on Netflix presentation. Bajaria stated that Netflix maintains a relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, including movies in development and an upcoming documentary.
She noted that the couple has projects in development on the television and film sides. Bajaria added that deals in the industry often end without significant media attention.
