50-Year-Old Man Gets 12 Years for Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl on Train

A 50-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Inner London Crown Court on 23 June after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl on a train; he had denied the offences and claimed he touched himself because of a skin condition.

GB News reported that Aliev was convicted in April of attempted rape, two counts of assault by penetration and three counts of sexual assault. The offences took place on June 16, 2025, aboard a train travelling from Essex into London.

GB News reported that Aliev approached the victim using a translator app, followed her when she moved away and trapped her by sitting in an aisle seat beside her before subjecting her to a prolonged assault. Aliev denied the charges and told the court he had only touched himself because of a skin condition.

After the assault the victim left the train at Fenchurch Street station, boarded a train in the opposite direction and reported the incident to members of the public, who contacted police.

British Transport Police analysed hours of CCTV footage and arrested Aliev on June 27, 2025, in Peckham, south London. Officers later searched his home in Rye Lane and seized the clothing he had worn during the assault. GB News reported that Aliev will remain on the sex offenders register for life.

Constable Elizabeth Cahill of British Transport Police said the case involved one of the most abhorrent sexual assaults she had investigated. She credited the victim’s account and cooperation for securing the conviction and sentence. The victim and her family have received support from specialist officers.
