51-Year-Old Man Dies in Fall at Madison Square Garden During Goose Concert

A 51-year-old man died after falling from an upper deck at Madison Square Garden during a Goose concert on Saturday night. Police responded to a 911 call at about 9:51 p.m. and found the man unconscious and unresponsive with injuries indicating a fall from an elevated position.
The victim was identified as Paul Kueker, a married father of two from Connecticut who attended the show with his wife. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead there. Officials did not disclose the distance of the fall, and police said no criminality is suspected.
The incident occurred during the second of Goose’s two-night run at the venue. The band performed a full 16-song setlist, and the concert ended shortly before midnight. The performance was livestreamed on Amazon Music.
Venue staff cleared at least seven rows; a witness said the concert resumed about half an hour later. Goose issued a statement on its Instagram account Saturday night that read: "We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show.
Madison Square Garden said in a statement: "While we await the police report on the tragedy at last night's Goose concert, we are deeply saddened by the loss of a fan's life at Madison Square Garden. " Goose performed Sunday at SummerStage in Central Park.
Band member Peter Anspach addressed the death at the beginning of that concert, saying the group wanted to extend condolences to Kueker, his family and friends.
The band then held a moment of silence.
