The family tied to Walmart recorded the largest increase, adding an estimated $253 billion over two years to reach $520 billion. The family connected to Koch Inc. gained $41 billion, rising to $157 billion and moving from third to second place. The family behind Mars Inc.
increased its fortune by $12 billion to $129 billion. One family, the Chao clan linked to Westlake Corporation, fell below the threshold after losing $4.9 billion. The Brown family associated with Brown-Forman saw its net worth drop by $5.8 billion to $10.7 billion.
Forbes calculated fortunes using stock prices as of June 22, 2026. The ranking excludes individuals listed separately on the Forbes billionaires list and counts generations from the founding patriarch or matriarch to the youngest living descendants.
