76ers Pursue LeBron James Through Maxey, Embiid and Brown
The Philadelphia 76ers have contacted LeBron James via three players, with Tyrese Maxey leading the effort, ESPN reported. The team remains among James' top potential destinations alongside the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.

The Philadelphia 76ers have pursued LeBron James through direct communications from Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown, ESPN reported on Tuesday. Maxey has led the outreach. " Embiid, the 2022-23 NBA MVP, won a gold medal with James for Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Brown received an MVP endorsement from James in February. James also praised Philadelphia fans after scoring 12 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter on 5-for-6 shooting to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 112-108 win over the 76ers in December. Sources told ESPN the 76ers remain one of the top potential destinations for James, along with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat.
Bob Myers, president of Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, which owns the 76ers, appeared on the "Game Over" podcast and said Philadelphia offered James his best chance to win. "If he was here, I'd say, 'I honestly believe this is your best chance to win,'" Myers said.
Mike Gansey, the 76ers' president of basketball operations, told The Athletic the team has spoken with James' agent Rich Paul since the Jaylen Brown trade.
"We'd obviously love to have LeBron," Gansey said. " On Friday he returns to Fanatics Fest for a live taping of "The Shop" with Novak Djokovic, Maverick Carter, Travis Bennett and Steelo Brim.
