93-Year-Old Scotland Fan Travels to World Cup Match in Boston

Moira Brown, 93, plans to travel from Glasgow to Boston for Scotland's group-stage match against Haiti on June 13. She also holds tickets for the team's other two group matches, one near Boston and one in Miami. Brown said she waited nearly 30 years to see Scotland qualify again. "I'm the luckiest person in this world," she said.

Scotland last reached the World Cup in 1998. The team secured its place for the current tournament by defeating Denmark in November 2025. She first watched a match in the 1930s when her father took her to a club game in Motherwell.

Brown travels with other Glasgow supporters and carries only a carry-on bag. She said she still climbs the stairs to her third-floor apartment and manages long flights. She recalled earlier trips to matches in Japan, Peru, and Morocco. Brown said she spends her money mainly on football tickets. Scotland opens against Haiti at 9 p.m. ET on June 13.
