Jack Draper Withdraws from Barcelona Open Match Due to Right Knee Injury

Match Withdrawal at Barcelona Open Jack Draper withdrew from his opening clay-court match against Tomas Martin Etcheverry at the Barcelona Open on Monday.

He suffered a right knee problem during the match. Draper won the opening set 6-3 but lost the second set 3-6. Draper received medical attention after the second set, after which his right knee was strapped.

His mobility was compromised throughout the deciding set. He abandoned the match while trailing 4-1 in the third set and managed only five further games following treatment. Tomas Martin Etcheverry defeated Jack Draper 3-6, 6-3, 4-1 (retirement) at the Barcelona Open, according to Tennis TV.

This victory achieved Etcheverry's 13th clay-court win of 2026, Tennis TV reported.

Recent Return and Form Jack Draper returned to competitive action in February following a six-month absence from the tour.

In March, he secured a fourth-round victory over Novak Djokovic at Indian Wells. He suffered a second-round defeat to Reilly Opelka at the Miami Open. Jack Draper sat out the Monte Carlo Masters last week.
