Steveson previously competed in wrestling, earning an Olympic gold medal. He also participated in the WWE's NIL program as its first signee and signed a developmental deal with the company in late 2021. He appeared at WWE SummerSlam in August 2021 and was drafted to the Raw brand, but made only a few appearances on NXT before leaving.
After a stint with the Buffalo Bills, Steveson transitioned to mixed martial arts. ESPN reported on Saturday that Steveson has signed with the UFC and will debut at International Fight Week.
