Abus Magomedov defeated Michal Oleksiejczuk by guillotine choke submission 3 minutes and 25 seconds into the first round at UFC Baku. yardbarker.com reported that Magomedov stunned Oleksiejczuk with a cutting elbow before locking in the choke that left his opponent unconscious at the National Gymnastics Arena. Magomedov had entered the card as a slight favorite.
The Russian-German middleweight had lost his previous bout to Joe Pyfer via submission last October. He has now won four of his past five fights. Magomedov used his post-fight microphone time to call out Israel Adesanya.
"I want to fight against Israel Adesanya," he said. " Adesanya is on a four-fight losing streak dating to 2023. The win improves Magomedov's record to 29-7-1 and positions him for a ranked opponent next.
No timeline has been announced for a potential Adesanya booking.
