Aces Beat Sparks 79-69 as Wilson Records 25-15-5 and Ogwumike Breaks Rebounding Record

A’ja Wilson scored 25 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked five shots as the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 79-69 on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Jackie Young added 16 points and nine assists, and Chelsea Gray finished with 12 points and 11 assists for Las Vegas, which improved to 6-3.

Wilson moved into eighth place on the WNBA career blocks list, passing Tammy Sutton-Brown with 555 career blocks.

6 seconds left in the period to extend the advantage to 13 points. Rae Burrell scored a career-high 22 points for the Sparks, who fell to 4-5. Nneka Ogwumike had 12 points and 12 rebounds and took sole possession of fifth place on the WNBA career rebounding list, passing Tamika Catchings with 3,315 rebounds.

Burrell was 7 of 10 from the field for 17 points through three quarters while her teammates combined to shoot 8 of 38 in that span. She completed a three-point play with 2:48 remaining to pull Los Angeles within 71-64, but Wilson answered with a three-point play at the 1:40 mark to restore a 10-point lead. Kelsey Plum missed her third straight game for the Sparks because of an ankle injury.

Dearica Hamby went 0 for 7 from the field, her first game without a made field goal since July 9, 2023. The Aces host Golden State on Saturday. The Sparks continue a three-game homestand on Friday against Dallas.
