Aces Face Liberty in Commissioner's Cup Final Without Wilson

The reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces will face the New York Liberty on Tuesday for the Commissioner's Cup championship at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The matchup marks the first rematch in the tournament's six-year history. The Liberty defeated the Aces in the 2023 final, while the Aces won the 2023 WNBA title against the same opponent.

The Aces ruled out their star forward on Tuesday after she rolled her right ankle in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Sky on Sunday. She finished that game with 30 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and three blocks. "It's good, I'm working on it," the forward said after the game.

The coach told reporters the injury is not expected to have long-term effects and that the player likely needs a few days to recover. The Liberty will also be without a key forward who suffered a concussion during New York's win over Las Vegas on June 23.

The winning team will split a $500,000 prize pool, with each player on the winning side receiving $30,000 and each player on the losing side receiving $10,000. The MVP will receive an additional $10,000, and $10,000 will go to a charity chosen by the winning team. The game tips off at 7 p.m. ET and streams on Prime Video. FanDuel lists the Liberty as 6.5-point favorites with a total of 173.5.

The Aces have won 10 of their last 12 games and hold the league's best offensive rating at 112.5. They re-signed their core players after the 2025 title and added one new rotation piece. The Liberty are 12-8 and sit in fifth place after an up-and-down season marked by injuries and limited practice time among their top players.
