Actor to Release Memoir Detailing Seven-Year Health Ordeal and Organ Removal

An actor will publish a memoir this fall that recounts a seven-year span of autoimmune illnesses affecting his skin, thyroid, eyes, lungs, and digestive system. The book states that the conditions led to a life-saving organ amputation. It also describes multiple near-death experiences and an existential crisis during which physicians offered few explanations.

The memoir, titled "Bloodlines," is scheduled for release October 13 from Avid Reader Press. Its description outlines a search that included shamans, pagan rituals, ancient myths, and family records tracing back to a survivor of the Armenian genocide.

" He added that writing the book provided perspective that framed his suffering as a cocoon from which he emerged changed. The health events occurred during a new marriage and at the height of the actor's career. The memoir links the illnesses to inherited trauma and patterns observed in others with chronic conditions.
