Washington ExaminerThe Trump administration completed a two-week search for a new U.S. Border Patrol chief on Thursday. Three sources familiar with the process told the Washington Examiner that a final selection has been made. The appointee is a 26-year Border Patrol agent who currently serves as chief patrol agent of the northwestern region based in Blaine, Washington.
The agent previously worked in Yuma, Arizona, and San Diego, at agency headquarters in Washington, and as assistant attaché for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Canada.

Officials stated that the position is not a political appointment and does not require Senate confirmation.
