An AI-generated image originally posted by a social media influencer in February was later shared on a different prominent social media account with several notable alterations. Among these changes, a soldier floating in the clouds was transformed into a winged figure with a spiky head, which some users interpreted as demonic.

Other modifications included an increased number of stars on a flag, altered fighter jets, blurrier background buildings, and changes in facial expressions toward a more fearful appearance.

Additionally, a hat labeled “VETERAN” in the original image was changed to display unfamiliar characters. The intermediary steps and reasons for these changes have not been publicly explained. It is known that the final account holder has control over the content posted on their feed, and previous instances have shown that advisers have limited influence over the content shared.

On a later date, the same account posted another AI-generated image depicting an embrace between two figures in front of a national flag.

Some affiliated nonprofits have drawn attention for their donation structures and promises of access to donors.

The Washington Post, which experienced financial losses and newsroom layoffs in 2025, has scaled back its White House Correspondents’ Dinner events to a traditional pre-dinner reception.
