Alabama Woman Found Dead After Eight-Day Search, Man Charged With Corpse Abuse

Karen Deann Hollis, 23, was found dead in Greene County on Saturday after an eight-day search. She had last been seen around midnight on May 8 in Northport, about 60 miles from Birmingham. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency had issued a missing and endangered person alert. Hollis suffered from a condition that could impair her judgment, according to police.

Lendell Dejourney, 44, has been charged with abuse of a corpse. An autopsy will determine the cause of death, and additional charges against Dejourney remain possible. m. on May 8 that she did not feel well and was going to get a Reese’s peanut butter cup.
