Albanian Villagers Dispute Land Ownership for Planned Luxury Resort

A dozen villagers in Albania say they hold rightful title to land where international investors plan a luxury resort. One of the villagers, Kostaq Konomi, is among those asserting ownership of the property. The investors include U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. The project involves construction of a luxury resort on the disputed land.

The villagers maintain that their ownership rights predate the resort plans. They have stated their position publicly in connection with the proposed development. No resolution of the ownership dispute has been reported.
