The U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified the action as a Class II recall on April 28, 2026. Lactalis Canada, the manufacturer, began the recall on April 14, 2026.
The affected product is Specially Selected Vanilla Crème Brûlée sold in small glass jars. It carries a best-before date of May 9, 2026, along with product code 710298-4099100342826 and barcode 4099100342826. Approximately 2,869 cases reached Aldi locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, and Virginia.
The FDA stated that exposure could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects. The risk of serious harm is considered low. Consumers are advised not to eat the product and to dispose of it safely if purchased.
