All 30 MLB teams are scheduled to play on Monday, July 20, 2026, with the first game starting at 6:40 p.m. ET between the Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins, ESPN reported. The Chicago Cubs host the Detroit Tigers at Wrigley Field at 8:05 p.m.
ET, where game-time storms are possible. Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins remains day-to-day with a hip issue and is eligible to return from the 10-day injured list. He spent the weekend of July 18-19 participating in defensive drills and taking batting practice.
The Twins enter the series four games behind the Guardians in the AL Central and two games out of a wild-card spot, with the August 3 trade deadline approaching. Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks hyperextended his elbow while striking out in the seventh inning on July 19. He initially stayed in the game but left for a pinch-hitter in the ninth.
Manager Torey Lovullo stated on July 20 that Carroll is day-to-day with a chance to play that night against the Athletics. Casey Mize of the Detroit Tigers holds a 2.79 ERA and 1.03 WHIP through 80 2/3 innings this season. He exited his July 19 outing after 3 1/3 innings after being hit in the left hand by a ground ball and experiencing groin tightness.
An unnamed Kansas City Royals star shortstop missed seven games in 2026 due to lingering back tightness and remained day-to-day ahead of a three-game home series against the San Francisco Giants.
