Graham Platner, Combat Veteran and Oyster Farmer, Faces Allegations as Presumptive Democratic Senate Nominee

Graham Platner spoke to supporters at a rally in Bar Harbor, Maine, on June 5, 2026, and said his past was being weaponized by political opponents. Platner told the crowd that when hurtful things he said on the internet a decade ago came out, Maine had his back. He added that as every single piece of his past gets dug up, litigated, and weaponized, supporters have his back.

The Republican National Committee posted on X that Graham Platner said he would rape someone to show his dominance and that rape was about power.
