Amanda Serrano Stops Cheyenne Hanson in Round 2, Ties Christy Martin's Knockout Record

Amanda Serrano stopped Cheyenne Hanson in the second round at the Fertitta Center in El Paso, Texas, retaining her WBA and WBO featherweight titles. The 37-year-old American pinned the 28-year-old German in the corner and landed a series of unanswered punches that prompted the referee to stop the bout. Serrano now has 32 knockouts, tying the record held by Christy Martin.

Serrano became the first fighter to stop Hanson inside the distance. Three of Serrano's four career losses have come against Katie Taylor. In the co-main event, Stephanie Han defeated Holly Holm by split decision to retain the WBA lightweight title.

One judge scored the bout 95-95 while the other two scored it 96-94 for Han, who remains undefeated. Han said ringside that her next target is Katie Taylor. Desley Robinson retained her IBF and WBO middleweight titles with a wide unanimous decision victory over Mary Spencer.

Lourdes Juarez kept her WBC light-flyweight title after a split decision against Yokasta Valle. O'Shaquie Foster retained his WBC super-featherweight title with a majority decision win over Raymond Ford at the Fertitta Center in Houston.
