Amazon Project Titus Focuses on Nvidia GPU Infrastructure

Amazon is preparing its data centers for upcoming Nvidia GPU systems through a project internally referred to as Titus. The company is redesigning power systems, liquid cooling setups, server layouts, and deployment timelines to accommodate Nvidia hardware including GB200 racks.

Amazon named the effort after the Roman Emperor Titus Flavius Vespasianus, citing the Colosseum's modular architecture as an inspiration for scalable data center design. Business Insider reported that internal documents describe the changes as efforts to future-proof facilities for Nvidia's next-generation systems.

Amazon has promoted its own Trainium chips as alternatives to Nvidia GPUs. The Titus project shows continued infrastructure work around Nvidia hardware even as the company develops in-house options. Business Insider noted that the initiative reflects Nvidia's ongoing influence on cloud architecture decisions.
