Amazon series Spider-Noir premieres with eight episodes on May 25

Amazon released the eight-episode series Spider-Noir on May 25. The program follows Ben Reilly, a former vigilante who now works as a private investigator in New York City after the death of his girlfriend. Reilly’s secretary Janet has worked with him for five years and is aware of his danger-sensing ability and photography skills.

She considers leaving the job because Reilly has not paid her in months and has failed to bring in new clients.

Reilly accepts a case that leads him to nightclub singer Cat Hardy and local crime figure Silvermane. The investigation also brings him into contact with superpowered individuals including Flint Marko. Nicolas Cage portrays Reilly. Additional cast members include Karen Rodriguez as Janet, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, and Brendan Gleeson as Silvermane.

Episodes are available on MGM Plus starting May 25 and on Amazon Prime beginning May 27. The series is presented in both black-and-white and colorized versions and draws stylistic elements from mid-20th-century crime films. The program maintains only loose connections to earlier Spider-Verse projects and does not return Cage’s animated character from those films.
