America250 Block Party Events Begin July 3 Across Multiple Cities

Community-led Independence Day events tied to the country's 250th anniversary begin Friday, July 3, and continue through Sunday, July 5, in multiple cities. The America250 organization coordinates the gatherings under the name America's Block Party. Events feature live music, food and drink, and family activities organized by local groups.
Eight sites are designated as official host locations.
They include a benefit show at One Times Square in New York City on July 3, an event on the Times Square Skywalk on July 4-5, a benefit show at the LA Memorial Coliseum on July 4, the Boston Pops Firework Spectacular on July 4, a waterfront celebration in Charleston, South Carolina, on July 4, a festival at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, on July 4, Summerfest in Milwaukee through July 4, and a unity concert in Philadelphia on July 4.
CBS will air "The Great American Block Party 250" on July 4 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET. The program includes performances by Queen Latifah, The Roots and Jill Scott, Zac Brown Band, Jon Batiste, Goo Goo Dolls, and The War and Treaty. The broadcast will stream on Paramount+, CBS News 24/7, CBSNews.com, and YouTube. Paramount+ will also carry the full Philadelphia unity concert.
An interactive map on the America250 website lists participating events. A free mobile app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store allows users to search for gatherings by location.
