Dylan Cease struck out the side in the first inning and combined with ten relievers to limit the National League to three hits. Ben Rice added an RBI single in the first inning, and Miguel Vargas hit a solo home run in the eighth.

The National League recorded only three singles and never advanced a runner past first base. Pitchers struck out 27 batters, with 15 coming from American League arms. Only six pitches reached 100 mph, the fewest in an All-Star Game since 2021.
player exits Several prominent starters were unavailable for the game. Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero left after being hit on the hand by a 97.6 mph sinker in the third inning; X-rays were negative. Mike Trout went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his first All-Star appearance since 2019.

Fireworks followed the fourth inning to a video of Ray Charles singing “America the Beautiful.” Philadelphia was awarded the game in 2019 to coincide with the U.S. semiquincentennial.
