Amtrak Launches NextGen Acela Service on New York to Philadelphia Route

Amtrak placed five NextGen Acela trainsets into service on the Northeast Corridor in 2025. A dozen or more departures operate daily in each direction.
The trainsets reach speeds of up to 257.5 km/h.
They include fast Wi-Fi, new seating, and updated food service. Business-class seating is arranged in a 2-2 configuration. Each seat has a fold-down tray table, adjustable leg rest, reading light, power outlet, and USB port. Passengers may bring two bags up to 23 kilograms each plus one personal item. Luggage racks and overhead shelves are provided.
The Cafe Acela car sells sandwiches, salads, hot meals, and beverages priced from $US4 to $15. Business-class passengers can order from their seats on select departures. First-class passengers receive complimentary meals prepared by Philadelphia-based Starr Restaurants.
