The Anaheim Ducks signed forward AJ Greer to a four-year contract. The deal carries a $4.25 million average annual value and a 10-team no-trade clause. Greer, 29, completed a two-year contract with an $850,000 average annual value and was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday.
The Ducks acquired exclusive negotiating rights by trading the rights to defenseman Radko Gudas to the Florida Panthers earlier this week. Greer enters his 10th NHL season after playing for the Colorado Avalanche, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames and Panthers.
He recorded 17 goals and 15 assists in 78 games during the 2025-26 season while averaging 12:26 of ice time per game and accumulating 113 penalty minutes.
He posted 243 penalty minutes across two seasons with the Panthers, where he served as a hard-hitting depth forward on the 2025 Stanley Cup-winning roster. Florida traded forwards Evan Rodrigues and Jesper Boqvist to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday in a deal that brought goalie Jacob Markstrom to the Panthers.
Greer becomes the third member of the Panthers' bottom-six forwards to depart this offseason.
