Andrej Karpathy has joined Anthropic to work on pre-training of large language models. He previously co-founded OpenAI and led AI efforts at Tesla.

He has taught an online course on neural networks and maintains a YouTube channel with lectures on AI. Karpathy said he remains passionate about education and plans to resume work on it in time.
Anthropic also brought on Chris Rohlf to its frontier red team.
Rohlf has more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity and previously worked at Meta for six years.
