Intercontinental Exchange invested roughly $200 million in OKX in March at a $25 billion valuation. Cuomo said he will spend the majority of his time overseeing the joint venture. ICE Senior Vice President Trabue Bland will serve as the other co-chair.
Cuomo will also work with a handful of nonprofits and philanthropies. Cuomo lost the 2025 New York City mayoral election to Zohran Mamdani. He began advising OKX in 2023 during a Department of Justice investigation.
The exchange agreed to a $500 million settlement and pleaded guilty to violating anti-money laundering laws in 2025 before relaunching in the United States. Cuomo said he supports blockchain technology rather than crypto and is not working with other crypto companies. “This is not about crypto,” he said.
Cuomo resigned as New York governor in 2021 after multiple women alleged sexual harassment. He has repeatedly denied the accusations.
