Ann Widdecombe Dies at Age 78

Ann Widdecombe died at age 78. GB News reported the death and carried tributes from Shadow Illegal Immigration Minister Matt Vickers. Vickers called the day devastating and said he was hugely devastated by the news.

He described Widdecombe as a titan of British politics, an incredible public servant and parliamentarian. "She would be entirely unafraid to take me on - in fact, she did several times privately," Vickers said. He added that few people were as forthright or as willing to share their opinions.

Vickers recalled first seeing Widdecombe on television as a youngster and later hosting her in his constituency. He said she remained the same off camera as on, generous with her time and an inspiring figure. "The world will be much sadder place without Ann Widdecombe," Vickers stated.
