Ann Widdecombe warned during a 17 June broadcast that Rupert Lowe's party was the only factor that could prevent Reform UK's Robert Kenyon from winning the Makerfield by-election. The warning came in one of her final public appearances. Andy Burnham won the by-election.
Death confirmed On 10 July, Widdecombe's management confirmed that she had died aged 78. The statement said she would be missed "greatly". Widdecombe had served as a Conservative minister before joining Reform UK.
