Anthropic Adds Over 20 Legal Tool Integrations as Law Firms Test Claude on Live Cases
Anthropic announced more than 20 new integrations Tuesday, including 12 role-specific AI plugins and a Microsoft 365 connector embedding Claude across Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Freshfields, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, Holland & Knight and Crosby Legal are using the system on active cases while Claude Opus 4.7 scored 90.9% on Harvey’s BigLaw Bench.

The integrations include 12 role-specific AI plugins covering M&A due diligence to employment handbook drafting. The company also released a cross-app integration with Microsoft 365 that embeds Claude across Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint as a single context-carrying agent.

More than 20,000 legal professionals signed up for Anthropic’s most recent legal webinar. Anthropic described its most recent legal webinar as the largest legal session it has ever held. @FortuneMagazine reported that judges have been issuing sanctions and bar associations issuing warnings after lawyers submitted briefs with citations to nonexistent cases, yet BigLaw adoption has accelerated.
Gerrit Beckhaus, Partner and Co-Head at Freshfields, said Claude’s capabilities have become an essential part of Freshfields’ proprietary AI-powered solutions. Freshfields is co-developing agentic workflows with Anthropic that can handle multi-step legal tasks end-to-end.
Christopher D. Kercher, Partner, Founder & Head of AI & Data Analytics at Quinn Emanuel, personally built Quinn Emanuel’s litigation platform on Claude with virtually no coding background. Kercher built the platform because he needed it for a real trial.
"The breakthrough was treating Claude like a member of the case team: onboard it with chronology, key excerpts, and themes the way you’d onboard a partner joining mid-case," he said.
