" He becomes the fourth member of the trust.
The other members are Neil Buddy Shah, CEO of the Clinton Health Access Initiative; Richard Fontaine, a national security expert; and Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar, an international affairs expert appointed in January 2026. Trust members receive compensation only for time and service and hold no equity in Anthropic. Existing trustees select new members in consultation with the company.
Anthropic was founded in 2021 by researchers and executives who left OpenAI. The company is valued at $965 billion and is preparing for a potential initial public offering as soon as 2026, according to CNBC.
