Venture capital firm Antler opened its 27th global office in San Francisco in 2025. The office is the firm's third in the United States after locations in Austin and New York City. Antler founder Magnus Grimeland said Silicon Valley remains the largest startup ecosystem. He added that founders can now innovate from many locations at higher levels than before.

Antler was founded in 2017 and has made more than 1,500 investments. PitchBook named the firm the world's most active venture capital firm in 2024. In 2025 Antler completed more than 400 investments and raised $510 million, including a $160 million U.S.-focused fund.

The firm provides up to $400,000 in initial funding through its residency program. Two portfolio companies reached unicorn status in 2025: Airalo and Lovable, the latter valued at $6.6 billion.

Antler maintains offices in more than 20 cities across six continents. Grimeland said the firm may open up to five additional locations. He stated that local presence helps identify stronger founders who might otherwise be overlooked. Antler opened offices in Nairobi in 2019 and Lagos in 2025.

When the firm entered Africa it received 5,000 applications and selected 40 founders for its first cohort.

Grimeland described artificial intelligence as the largest opportunity he has seen. Antler has invested in AI companies including Lovable and wrtn technologies, both projected to reach $100 million in annual recurring revenue. Grimeland said future value will come from AI applications that solve previously unsolved problems rather than infrastructure alone.
