Apple will hold a special event in September to announce the iPhone 18 Pro and the next version of its mobile software, iOS 27. The company has followed this schedule every year since 2012.
The first iPhone launched in January 2007 with sales beginning in June. Subsequent models through the iPhone 4 appeared in June until the iPhone 4S shifted to an October 2011 announcement. Every iPhone keynote since 2012 has taken place between September 7 and September 14, with the single exception of September 15 in 2020.
Apple has never scheduled a September event before Labor Day or on the day immediately after the holiday. In 2015, when Labor Day fell on September 7, the keynote occurred on September 9.
The same calendar alignment occurs this year.
The company is expected to hold its keynote on Wednesday, September 9. The iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a possible first foldable model would go on sale the following Friday, September 18.
