Apple detailed more than twenty updates to Maps, Wallet, Music, Podcasts, and other services that will reach users this fall or later this year.
TechCrunchApple introduced an improved Flyover feature in Apple Maps with more detailed visuals and smoother navigation. The company also launched Local Lists in Apple Maps allowing users to discover and save trending recommendations for restaurants and attractions.
Find My users will be able to share their location for a custom amount of time ranging from minutes to a specific date and time beginning this fall.
The service will also allow users to temporarily pause location sharing with individual contacts until the end of the day. Apple Wallet will let users scan receipts with an iPhone camera and automatically split bills using Apple Cash. The receipt-splitting feature, powered by Apple Intelligence, identifies individual items and calculates shares of taxes and tips.
Wallet will support digitizing physical membership and loyalty cards by scanning barcodes or digital cards. Digitized loyalty and membership cards can be pinned to the Apple Watch Smart Stack. Apple Wallet will provide hotel guests at participating properties access to trip details, activity schedules, service information, and real-time updates.
Apple Pay will feature a redesigned checkout experience allowing users to swipe between payment cards and view rewards balances, debit balances, and pay-later options. Later this year, users will be able to add funds directly to eligible debit cards through Wallet or during Apple Pay checkout.
Apple is expanding Tap to Pay on iPhone with Tap to Share, enabling customers to share loyalty accounts, shipping addresses, and contact details with merchants via tap.
Apple Music is expanding Lyrics Translation to seven additional language pairings including English translations for French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish, and Japanese songs. Lyrics Pronunciation will display phonetically translated lyrics across five new language pairings. Apple Music AutoMix is being enhanced with more immersive mixes and expanding to Apple TV and HomePod.
Apple Music subscribers will gain access to Hi-Res Lossless Audio on Apple TV 4K. Apple Podcasts is adding a search within show feature allowing users to search through episodes of a specific podcast on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro, and the web. The service is also bringing video podcasts to Mac and Apple TV.
ICloud Shared Albums will support full-resolution photo sharing, additional file types, emoji reactions, improved activity feeds, and per-album activity viewing. The service will introduce temporary albums for short-term projects and events. Non-Apple device users will be able to contribute photos to iCloud Shared Albums through the web.
Fitness+ is launching the three-week Strong Through Menopause program with guided Yoga and Strength workouts. Fitness+ is adding a new Time to Walk episode featuring actor Busy Philipps discussing her perimenopause experiences. All iOS 27 features are available for developers to test through the Apple Developer Program, with a public beta arriving next month.
