Apple is raising the price of AppleCare Plus subscriptions for new Mac and iPad subscribers, The Verge reported. Monthly payments will increase by $0.50 and annual payments by $5 for new sign-ups. Existing subscribers will keep their current pricing.
A new 13-inch MacBook Air plan will cost $7.99 per month, up from $7.49, or $79.99 per year, up from $74.99, according to the report citing Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The Verge quoted Gurman saying a plan for a new 13-inch MacBook Air increased to $7.99 from $7.49, or to $79.99 from $74.99 annually. Apple raised AppleCare Plus prices on iPhones in a similar move last year.
The new pricing for Macs and iPads has not yet appeared on Apple's website in the US, and Apple has not responded to a request for comment.
