The reports gained nearly 250,000 views within 24 hours after broadcast and circulation on social media. Some viewers accused Al-Hurra of serving Israeli interests because Kassem was accompanied by an IDF Arabic-speaking spokesperson. " Some comments questioned how Kassem obtained access to the area.
"Some people have a hard time facing the facts," Kassem told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday. " Kassem said Al-Hurra was the first Arabic-speaking media outlet to enter Southern Lebanon and show conditions there. He added that journalists should report what they see without filters.
"I believe it's important to expose the truth, even if it is inconvenient or disturbing to some people," he said. Kassem noted that he had recently reported on settler attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank.
