Archaeologists in Egypt uncover artifacts spanning Egyptian, Greek, and Roman eras

Archaeologists working in Egypt have uncovered a collection of ancient objects that includes items from the Egyptian, Greek, and Roman periods. Among the finds is a marble head of Aphrodite and the remains of a Roman basilica. A near-complete funerary set was also recovered.

The artifacts add to the record of successive cultures that occupied the region over centuries. Officials have not yet released the precise location of the site or details on further excavation plans.
