Argent BioPharma Shares Rise 206 Percent After Licensing Deal

Argent BioPharma shares rose 206 percent to 11 cents after the company announced an exclusive global licensing agreement for its CannEpil epilepsy treatment. The deal transfers commercial rights to NYSE-listed Splash Beverage Group. In return, Splash will assume Argent's US$5.5 million convertible notes held by Mercer Street Global Opportunity Fund, extinguishing the liability upon closing.

Argent retains ownership of all CannEpil intellectual property, manufacturing know-how and regulatory assets. It will also receive a perpetual 15 percent royalty on future net sales.

Gold shares climbed 109 percent to 23 cents after the company identified gold-bearing paleo gravels at its Newman project in Western Australia. Bulk sampling at the Capricorn prospect returned widespread gold particles across a four-kilometre strike. The company applied for a 202-hectare mining lease adjacent to special prospecting licences held by shareholder Mark Creasy.

Minerals Intercepts Broad Gold-Zinc-Silver Zone Newpeak

Minerals shares increased 107 percent to 3.1 cents after its first drill hole at the Las Opeñas project in Argentina intersected 663 metres grading 0.41 grams per tonne gold equivalent. The intercept, starting at 127 metres, included 0.16 grams per tonne gold, 0.65 percent zinc and 4.53 grams per tonne silver.

A higher-grade 84-metre zone from 20 metres below surface graded 0.72 grams per tonne gold equivalent.
