Arizona Republican Primary Features Biggs and Schweikert for Governor

Arizona voters head to the polls to select nominees for governor in a race viewed as an indicator of President Donald Trump's standing in the state. The Democratic primary features incumbent governor Katie Hobbs running without opposition.

On the Republican side, five-term congressman Andy Biggs leads the field. He has received endorsements from President Donald Trump and other figures including Lauren Boebert and Matt Gaetz. Eight-term congressman David Schweikert positions himself as a moderate alternative and has criticized Biggs over ties to certain groups.

Business owners Ken Miceli and Scott Neely also appear on the Republican ballot.

District, former sheriff Mark Lamb leads the Republican primary. He has received endorsements from President Donald Trump and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. An Arizona Republic investigation reported allegations from a former staff member and at least three women regarding Lamb's personal conduct.

Lamb has denied the claims, and a Pinal County attorney investigation cleared him of criminal wrongdoing. His main challenger is construction-company founder Daniel Keenan.
