3 astronomical units from its host star. It joins two previously known planets: TOI-4562 b is a warm Jupiter with an orbital period of 225 days, while TOI-4562 c is a hot super-Earth with a 13-day orbit.
Researchers used transit timing variations and radial velocity observations to determine the brown dwarf's mass at approximately 80 Jupiter masses. They also measured its inclination angle and compared it to the two known planets, finding all three objects aligned within measurement error.
The coincidence suggests the system formed from a single protoplanetary disk without major dynamical disruptions after formation.
