Houston Astros center fielder Brice Matthews left Sunday's game against the Rangers after injuring his left knee in a collision with the outfield wall. He was attended to by team staff and replaced by a pinch hitter.

Houston Astros center fielder Brice Matthews left Sunday's game with a left knee injury after crashing into the outfield wall while attempting to catch a ball hit by Josh Jung. The ball fell from Matthews' glove and resulted in a triple. Matthews remained on the field for one additional batter before being replaced by pinch hitter Taylor Trammell in the second inning.
Injury details Matthews crouched on his right knee for several minutes while trainer Eric Velazquez provided attention and manager Joe Espada observed. The 24-year-old Houston native and Atascocita High School graduate is hitting .197 through 81 games this season. Matthews made his major league debut last summer and appeared in 13 games before this season.
