Athletics place designated hitter Brent Rooker on injured list, activate shortstop Jacob Wilson
The Athletics reinstated Jacob Wilson from the injured list Friday while placing designated hitter Brent Rooker on the 10-day injured list retroactive to Tuesday with a left knee bone bruise.

Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson was activated off the injured list Friday, and designated hitter Brent Rooker was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to Tuesday because of a bone bruise in his left knee, ESPN reported. Wilson had been sidelined a month earlier with a dislocated left shoulder. 292 with three home runs and 19 RBIs over 39 games this season.
Rooker missed the victories over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Manager Mark Kotsay said Rooker would be further evaluated on the off day Thursday.
The Athletics are in Las Vegas this week and open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.
