Aubrey Plaza, a Golden Globe nominee, recently discussed the process of pitching the animated series Kevin, which is inspired by her life. The series features a talking cat in Queens and is co-created by Dan Murphy and Joe Wengert, Plaza's ex-boyfriend, with whom she wrote the show based on their rescue cat.

She described pitching the show as a full-circle moment, noting it felt cathartic and occurred in front of executives from Amazon and Netflix. The experience was unusual for Plaza, who met Wengert at age 19 and collaborated on the project 20 years later.
