August 2026 SSI Payments Issued July 31 as August 1 Falls on Saturday

Washington Examiner reported that August 2026 Supplemental Security Income payments will reach recipients on July 31. The payments normally arrive on the first day of each month. Because August 1 falls on a Saturday, the Social Security Administration moves the deposit to the last business day of July.
The maximum payment for an individual is $994. A couple filing jointly can receive up to $1,491. An essential caregiver of an SSI recipient can receive up to $498. These amounts reflect a 2.8 percent cost-of-living adjustment for 2026.
The program supports people who are blind, age 65 or older, or have another qualifying disability and have limited income. Recipients must be U.S. citizens or noncitizens in an alien classification approved by the Department of Homeland Security.
They must also reside in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands and must not be absent from the United States for a full calendar month or 30 consecutive days. The calendar adjustment does not change the total number of payments over the year.
