August 2026 SSI Payments Issued July 31 Due to Weekend

The Social Security Administration will send August 2026 Supplemental Security Income payments to recipients on July 31, Washington Examiner reported. Payments normally arrive on the first day of each month. When that date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the agency issues them on the last business day of the prior month.

August 1, 2026, lands on a Saturday. The maximum payment for an individual is $994. A couple filing jointly can receive up to $1,491. An essential caregiver of an SSI recipient qualifies for as much as $498.

Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship or an approved noncitizen classification from the Department of Homeland Security. Recipients must live in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands.

They also must not be absent from the United States for a full calendar month or for 30 consecutive days. The Social Security Administration posts a full payment calendar on its website.
