"He's given me confidence every single day," Reaves said. The pair have played golf together since James picked up the game last year. In a separate farewell message sent last week, Reaves wrote: "Thank you for everything.
The two shared a viral moment during a January 2022 game when James gave instructions to Reaves. They later reflected on the exchange during a March episode of the "Mind the Game" podcast. Reaves intends to sign a four-year, $185 million deal with the Lakers, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania last month.
James has not announced his next destination.
