Australia Test batter Nathan McSweeney has signed a new contract to play for Northamptonshire in the 2027 season. The 27-year-old, who has played three Test matches for Australia, has scored three County Championship centuries in his first year with Northants and is the county's leading run-scorer this summer with 589 runs at an average of just under 50.
McSweeney will also captain Northamptonshire in this summer's One-Day Cup and has contributed to their T20 Blast campaign, hitting an unbeaten 72 in Wednesday's eight-wicket win at Gloucestershire.
"I'm grateful for the faith the club has shown in me and I'm looking forward to continuing to contribute both on and off the field," he told the club website.
