Australian player Priscilla Hon posted on Instagram the men's winner's purse of 11,055 euros ($180,214) and the women's winner's purse of 32,520 euros ($53,251) at the Libéma Open in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. Her caption read: "Same tournament. Same draw.

Hon added that the difference was not specific to the Libéma Open. "Before anyone gets mad, I'm just sharing the numbers. This week, a WTA 250 and ATP 250 are running side by side in the same city," she wrote.

In the comments she clarified, "Just to be clear this is a system wide issue, not a Libéma Open issue. " The men's and women's tournaments are run separately by the ATP and WTA. Both events are 250-level tournaments, the smallest category on the top-tier tours, and award 250 ranking points to the winner.

Higher-tier 500 and 1,000 tournaments award more ranking points than 250 events. Grand slams award 2,000 ranking points to champions. The majors, governed by the International Tennis Federation, pay equal prize money to men's and women's singles winners.

Three Australian women are competing in the women's draw: Daria Kasatkina, Kimberly Birrell and Ajla Tomljanovic. Alex de Minaur, ranked sixth in the world, is the second seed in the men's draw behind world number four Felix Auger-Aliassime. De Minaur began his grass-court schedule at the event after winning seven matches across six clay-court tournaments that included three Masters 1000 events and the French Open.
