Australian teenager reaches Wimbledon boys' final

Cruz Hewitt advanced to the Wimbledon junior boys' final on Friday after defeating 11th-seeded Thijs Boogaard 6-4, 6-4. The 17-year-old broke serve in the third game of the opening set and held serve for the remainder. In the second set he dropped serve once, broke back immediately, and secured another break at 4-4 to close out the match.

He also hit an inside-out forehand winner and a cross-court forehand pass that ended a rally in the first set. The victory marked his fourth consecutive win over a seeded opponent and extended his run without dropping a set.

coaching Hewitt is coached by former Davis Cup player Wayne Arthurs. His father, Lleyton Hewitt, won the men's singles title at Wimbledon in 2002. Hewitt will face 16-year-old American qualifier Jordan Lee in the final on Sunday night (AEST).
